What is Opcity?
Opcity is a service that offers pre-screened, pre-validated referrals at no cost to brokers and agents nationwide, asking only for a traditional referral fee once the transaction closes.
How does Opcity generate referrals?
We take the pain out of buying and validating online internet leads by purchasing them ourselves, validating only those that are ready to buy or sell, and then matching them to the right agent by using our proprietary technology.
How do I sign up to start getting referrals?
Individual agents cannot sign up to be a part of the opcity network at this time. Our network of brokerages is invite-only, based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and performance. If you would like to encourage your broker to sign up, please contact email@example.com for more information.
What types of brokerages and agents can work with Opcity?
We currently work with residential real estate brokerages and residential real estate agents only.
What is your referral fee?
As our agreement is with the brokerages, any questions regarding the specifics of the referral fee should be directed to your broker.
The Dispatch Process
How do you decide which agent will receive the referral?
Once a client is validated, our proprietary technology looks for agents with appropriate matching criteria. The referral is assigned to the first agent that responds to our call or text and confirms with the Client Specialist that they are interested in working with the client.
When will I find out if I have been matched to a new referral?
Our system will send a referral alert by text to all matching agents as soon as a new referral is available. We ask that you click on the link included in the text if you are available to speak to that client right away. Our Client Specialists call the first agent to respond and connect them to the client. If you are the first agent to respond, you will see a message letting you know that we will call you within the next few minutes.
What if I’m not available to click on the link when I get a referral alert text?
You don’t have to click on the link in the text if you are not willing or able to accept a new referral at that time.
I clicked on the link in the text but I didn’t get the referral. Why not?
First to contact is the most critical factor when it comes to successful referrals. The first agent who clicks on the link and accepts the referral is the one who will receive it. If you were not first to click, you will be put into a queue in case the previous agent was unavailable.
Why is first to contact so important?
Many clients are ready to go see a house right away, and the faster we can connect them to an agent and get that first showing scheduled, the more likely they are to close with you.
How fast do I need to respond to the text before you offer the referral to another agent?
There is no specific response time required by the agent, but the faster you can view and click on the text, the better. If you are successfully the first to click, you must also answer the phone call right away before we move on to the next agent in the queue.
What if I don’t think the referral is a good fit?
If, for any reason, you decide the client isn't a good fit, you can call or email us and let us know. This will help us to improve our matching criteria in the future as well as find the next best agent for the client on the list. You can also update your settings in the opcity Referral Manager to reflect your new preferences.
Are the referrals only buyer leads?
We mostly refer buyers, but some are sellers as well.
How do I know that I can trust that the referrals are worth my time?
Our team of Client Specialists and our “smart” software diligently validate each client according to numerous factors prior to making a match. If the client is not ready to buy, needs to improve their credit score, requires pre-qualification for a loan or anything of that nature, we will work with them to become qualified rather than risk an unsuccessful referral.
How many referrals will I get?
It is very difficult for us to gauge exactly how many referrals any agent might receive over any given time period. The number of referral opportunities you will receive varies greatly according to location, market demand, time of year, and various other factors. Our algorithm works hard to distribute matches fairly, but participation in our referral program is not a guarantee of referrals.
What can I do to improve my chances of receiving more referrals?
As a new agent, your location, budget and language preferences will be your primary matching criteria. Participation and close rates are two factors that will strongly influence your matchability moving forward.
Is there a limit to the number of referrals we can receive?
There is no particular limit at this time.
THE REFERRAL MANAGER
How do I access the Referral Manager? Is there an app I can download?
Currently, there no app for you to download, though the Referral Manager can be accessed through either any of the text messages we've sent you, or by visiting referrals.opcity.com.
What if I don't know what my password is?
The first time you log into your Referral Manager, you'll need to reset your password by selecting the 'Reset Password' link. Your username will be your email address, and a verification email will be sent to said email address with further instructions on resetting your password.
How do I update my leads in the Referral Manager?

Help! I'm trying to update a lead, but it won't let me save my notes!
Double check that you have content in all required fields - they'll be marked with a red * - as the save function isn't enabled unless all required fields contain content.
Where can I update my phone number?
To update your name, phone number, or email address, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. All other settings - snoozing notifications, updating your home zip code and service area radius, your preferred client types, and preferred price ranges - can be accessed by selecting the gear icon in the upper right corner of the Referral Manager.
